Responsibilities

Purpose of the Role:

The Experienced DevOps Engineer actively implements and maintains CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and monitoring solutions to streamline development, testing, and deployment. This role collaborates closely with developers and operations to improve code integration and release practices while resolving infrastructure issues. With a strong grasp of tools, cloud platforms, and scripting, the experienced devOps engineer focuses on enhancing system reliability, performance, and scalability. The role contributes to reducing deployment times and improving team responsiveness through automation, standardized environments, and proactive issue detection.

Responsibilities:

 

  • CI/CD Pipeline Management: Implement and maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines to support agile development and frequent deployments.
  • Infrastructure Automation & Configuration: Automate infrastructure provisioning and system configuration using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
  • Monitoring & Performance Optimization: Configure monitoring systems and metrics dashboards; analyze logs and performance data to improve system efficiency.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Partner with developers and QA to streamline release processes and ensure deployment reliability.
  • Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Lead troubleshooting efforts for infrastructure, deployment, or operational issues; implement corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce deployment time and increase system stability.
  • Technical Expertise & Development: Maintain proficiency in cloud platforms, containers, automation tools, and version control systems.

Qualifications

Skills/Experience Required:

  • CI/CD Pipeline Development: Displays independent proficiency in designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for standard use cases. Intermediate experience troubleshooting pipeline issues, integrating automated testing, and adapting pipelines to evolving team needs with minimal supervision.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Shows working proficiency in writing and modifying IaC to provision and manage cloud infrastructure. Experience applying version control and standardization to IaC code.
  • Cloud Platform Proficiency: Proficient in deploying and managing services in one or more cloud platforms, including networking, storage, and compute.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Proficiency with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog for operational monitoring; ability to configure dashboards and alerts.
  • Scripting & Automation: Shows solid proficiency with scripting tools, independently creating and maintaining scripts to automate deployments, monitoring, and other operational tasks.
  • Configuration & Deployment Management Tools: Shows working proficiency in using tools like Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins, Docker, and/or Kubernetes to automate configuration and deployment processes.
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
